Glamour v Grunge – Welcome to the Big Thong 2024!

The Big Thong is what happens when you combine rock ‘n’ roll, nostalgia, fashion and community spirit for a worthy cause. A music extravaganza of 30 songs interspersed with dance and group acts that will leave you exhausted from dancing and smiling all night long. The Big Thong is an annual parents’ night out/live concert and fund raiser for Coogee Public School P&C and the highlight of the social calendar for many in the local community since its inception in 2003. It raises thousands of dollars each year by drawing on the talents of parents and friends (whether singing, dancing, playing or just supporting the event).

What is it again?
The Big Thong is an annual school community event where school parents & friends are all very welcome. It’s a live concert & variety show where some parents perform. And they rehearse for months & plan star-quality costumes so we’re not talking karaoke. We’ve been celebrating more than TWENTY YEARS of this unique event!!

Why should I go?
It’s a chance to hang out with other parents & have a dance and a laugh. Loads of laughs guaranteed. Come join us and bring your friends - even non-school attendees report having so much fun!

Do I have to dress up?
NO! But it’s fun if you do. Bring your fave music festival vibe to the Big Thongapalooza - feathers, glitter, hats, boots. Or just bring yourself. It’s all good in the thong hood.

The Big Thong is what happens when you combine rock'n'roll, nostalgia, and old-fashioned community spirit in aid of a worthy cause –raising funds towards the upgrade of the Coogee Public School active playground. A 4-hour music extravaganza featuring 40 songs which will leave you exhausted from dancing and your face aching from smiling.

The Big Thong is an annual live concert fund-raising night for Coogee Public School P&C and is the highlight of the social calendar for many in the local community since its inception in 2003. It is a great builder of community spirit and is a way for new parents at Coogee to get involved with the school.

And remember, what happens at the Thong, stays at the Thong.
