We are so excited that our SRC students will be working in consultation with the P&C on our CPS Toilet Beautification Project. Toilets have always been a hot topic during SRC meetings, so it is wonderful that an opportunity has come along for our students to be involved in a project to improve this area of the school. Pleasant, clean and safe toilets that kids are happy to go to at school can improve children’s short and long-term physical and mental health and learning outcomes.

2023 Update:

Thanks to the focus on the toilets by the school, P&C and kids, we got the attention of the Department of Education who have come into the school over the summer holidays and have upgraded all the main toilet blocks. This upgrade has included new floor and wall tiling, new partitions, paint and some other minor additions. With this much needed refurbishment, it will enable the P&C to focus on elements to beautify the toilets (rather than needing to spend on functionality, cleanliness and safety).

Here are a before and after shot of one of the Active playground toilets (don’t mind the paint tin!):

This term, the P&C will fund the beautification of the teachers toilets, the Kindy building toilets and the disabled toilet next to Coogee Care Centre. We will also add beautification elements to enhance the newly refurbished main toilet blocks. Stay tuned!

Photos before and after the NEON SPLASH WORKING BEE - this was just to let the kids know that this project is going ahead. The full beautification is yet to come!
