VIDEO: Introduction to our P&C

We would love you to watch this introduction to Coogee Public School P&C Association - showcasing what we contribute to the school and our community. We hope this inspires you to think about getting involved - our request is that all families will volunteer for at least one event every year whether that’s just a couple of mornings in the canteen or library, chucking on an apron to cook snags at a BBQ, helping at a weekend working bee or co-managing an event.

Never fear, there will be many chances to purchase before your child starts. Also please note that the ‘old style’ girls dress with the red bow is no longer uniform after 2022.

KINDY 2024 WHATSAPP GROUP

FOR COMMUNICATION & COMMUNITY BUILDING PRIOR TO KINDY STARTING

Over the last five years, we’ve set up a Kindy WhatsApp group a few months before school starts for parents of children starting kindy in the new year. It’s been warmly welcomed from new families - we’ve shared photos of our families, asked lots of questions about getting ready for school (there’s always families who have older kids already at CPS) and sent out little invitations for catch ups to help establish & nurture new friendships before school starts.

This WhatsApp group is private space for parents/carers of new Kindy starters at Coogee Public School in 2024. This group is facilitated by current CPS parents active with our P&C. This is a supportive and inclusive environment designed to help answer questions about starting school at CPS and to help build a Kindy 2024 community - please keep all questions, comments and discussions positive.

A few weeks after your child starts school, your new class parent will usually set up a class specific WhatsApp group, at which point most of the communication will swap over.

Joining the Kindy 2024 WhatsApp group is not mandatory, it’s there if you want to engage with other families prior to starting school.

HOW TO JOIN

• to be eligible to join, you must be a parent of a child enrolled in Kindy 2024 at Coogee Public School (your name needs to be one of the parents on the enrolment form - all members details will be checked by the school office. We need to do this for privacy and safety).
